Kelli brings a ton of excitement to the episode because 11 is her very favorite number! Kicking off the podcast with memories, sparks and snacks, Adrianna and Kelli take a few trips down memory lane. With undertones of S1E7: Ya Big Creep, take a peek into a day in the life.

We always promote a small business each episode, and for this feature we are so jazzed to talk about Wicky Woman Candles! Not only did Adrianna purchase a seasonal candle from WWC, but she can also refill it at any time, taking this sustainable and eco-friendly company a hella must 🙂

On this week’s episode, Adrianna and Kelli had a blast discussing some of their favorite memories:

What is your favorite item that you have found thrifting/secondhand shopping? (hint, we fucking love chairs)

What is your favorite thrifting childhood memory? (Yes, Adrianna was trying on shoes in Goodwill and someone walked away with her own zapatos! And did not want to give them back to her)

You know you had a good time in Goodwill when you leave barefoot and confused 🙂

Next question! Your BFF arrives to San Diego and begs you to take them to the best thrift store. Cough it up – which ones are the best in this huge city?

What is fast fashion?

Buckle up, buttercup! Bon Jovi’s gonna call us any minute. Tune in now, and here more about this week’s favorite small business, NRM Handmade! Shop her Etsy MEOW. Image below taken from her Etsy shop- this is the big baby pin! #TeacherTuesday- My Little Free Library and Poshmark Platform Unite!

Dear friends! It is day 56 of Quarantine for us over here in sunny San Diego. I recently became a Free Little Library owner in December, and have been happily collecting books for my library.

In addition to plumping up my own stock, I thoroughly enjoy restocking the other libraries in my community. There are a few popular libraries that are underserved, always emptied and sad before I arrive.

One of the most beautiful observations that I have had with this pandemic is that all of our community libraries are FULL! I truly believe that the community is using their libraries, as I am noticing constant movement and rearranging in my own library, and 2 others that I frequently steward. Yay! And so, I have had an excess of 100 books to donate, sitting in my home.

Let’s segway here, as I remind you all that I am a Poshmark Ambassador! I have been running a cute little online shop for over 5 years now. There are tons of acronyms for poshers and online shoppers alike; are you privy to FWP? Free with Purchase Items are one of my favorite things to offer in my shop. Things that aren’t quite profitable enough to sell, things that are used, damaged, or need a new home. You see, the Poshmark shopper pays for 5lbs of shipping costs NO MATTER WHAT. So, when you buy an Anthropologie polka-dot dress from my closet for $14, you pay $6.99 for 5lbs of Priority Mail. Why not add a few things?!

I want Poshers to be curious about reading! And boy, are the Nicholas Sparks books a hit! It has been so fun to see shoppers buy a trinket for themselves, like Nike running shorts, and add a copy of my favorite book to their order for free.

I think I may be the first person to have a FREE LITTLE LIBRARY in my Poshmark shop! I am deeply inspired to share and would love if anyone wanted to replicate something similar in their own shop.

Are you a Poshmark Seller? This is for you!

There are 2 ways to list FWP items. You can:

-List the item as $3 and instruct the buyer to deduct the price from their offer (in the comments section)

-List as 0 dollars (but then is marked as not for sale, and the customer as to personally reach out to see if the book is available still.

I opted for the first option, in bold! (Items cannot be listed as less than $3 in Poshmark due to the $2.95 seller fee)

Happy Poshing!

Poshmark Seller Materials List – #WellReadWednesday

Good morning friends! Today, I am going to share some of the tools you’ll need to be a Poshmark Seller. I have been selling on Poshmark for over 5 years and have a lot of experience! With over 1,000 sales, 64K followers and all sorts of customer service experiences haha, I have put together a few Poshmark Posts for those of you looking for tips.

Materials LIST

1. Mobile phone with Poshmark Mobile App downloaded. You can view and manage your Poshmark account on a desktop computer, but you cannot list and upload items. You must upload photos of your items through the App. Here’s a link to my closet!

2. Shipping Materials. I suggest creating a USPS account and ordering your supplies here, especially if you do not have $ to spend on shipping tape. I order shipping materials through USPS once every few months, and it takes anywhere from 5-20 days to arrive. I always order MAILING SLEEVES, MAILERS and BOXES. Click for links to them!

3. Save all shipping materials you receive. Bubble mailers, boxes, envelopes, shoe boxes, puffy bags of air, tissue. Create a designated recycling area (like your spare room, garage or underneath a table) and store all your materials. PRO TIP- ask your neighbors, parents or friends to save their shipping materials for you to use. This depends on what you sell. I sell decorative pillows often and need large boxes that the post office doesn’t provide for free. YOU CAN MAIL YOUR POSHMARK ORDERS in anything and everything. They do not have to be mailed in Priority mail materials. Yes, you can mail your shoes right in their shoe box! Taped up properly, of course.

4. Scissors. Trim all excess strings off of clothes you are selling

5. 1 pant hanger and 1 Shirt Hanger. Preferably, nice and photo-worthy! There are for hanging your items when photographing them.

6. Shipping tape and regular good ole-tape

7. Optional- thank you cards for large $ purchases. When someone buys an item over $35, I like to slip in a thank-you. Often, I reuse an index card or repurpose construction paper (teacher life) and do not spend money on thank you cards

Happy Poshing, friends! Check out my closet and let me know if you have any questions.

Homemade Easter Baskets for my Elders – #Teacher Tuesday

I have always been inspired by my grandma!

Earlier this month, we celebrated Easter Sunday in Quarantine. My Catholic grandmother has gone to church every year for Easter since she was born. 78 years or church!

I have so many excellent memories of Easter Sunday as a kid, and this inspires me for today’s TEACHER TUESDAY. I vividly remember my uncle hand-crafting a scavenger hunt on Easter throughout my grandma’s House, with notes hidden in the dryer and in the lemon tree.

Thank you to everyone that makes the holidays so special for all the kids around them! Dyeing eggs, receiving Easter eggs, eating tons of candy and peeps, my favorite, dressing in my Easter best-

Regardless of your religious views, may you find solace in the culture and love that brings community together. I love Spring! Inpsired by my grandma, I realized this is the first year she has NEVER gone to church. Quarantine and pandemic only allows for virtual church, which she partook in, but she admits it isn’t the same.

Touchee, grandma, so here is a handmade basket!

I made her felt flowers and attached them to a thrifted basket; this was a fun project from early Quarantine Days.

Thanks for finding inspiration from my greatest teachers; may your greatest takeaway be to gift-give!

Practice some chair yoga with me!

Frothy Repurposed Chair- Cha Cha Cha Chia! #Upcycle

Thank you Hanarahans for the plant and pot!
Thank you bestie for stopping in the middle of our hike to swoop some free patio furniture

Greetings wildlings! I hope this time in isolation and quarantine is keeping you well, if you are reading this in real-time!

There are few things that I love more than repurposed, FREE, quirky items that find their way to me. An avid American picker, I will absolutely slam on my breaks for a pile of free opportunity!

My best friend and I were hiking in San Diego, doing our usual thing! Some hikes rural, some residential, this hike through Rose Canyon took us through some neighborhood streets. Lo and behold, a free outdoor iron table and chairs! A little rusted and dated, I had to have them. And so, we quickly hiked back to my car, a Camry at the time!, and after a few puzzle piece maneuvers, we fit the furniture in the trunk.

This plant never saw it coming! On a whim, Josh and I were wondering what pots we had that would fit inside of this sturdy iron chair frame. This plant was gifted to us by dear friends that moved to CANADA and could not take them along! We inherited a ton of amazing plants from the Hanrahans, thank you friends! This frothy chair is the greatest thing I have seen in my yard.

When two whatever items turn into magnificent greatness! I love when that happens! Thankful Thursday, my friends.

Speaking of chairs 🙂 If you need any chair yoga, I have your back!

How to Support Us – #ThankfulThursdays

Thank you for the love and support! XO- The Corders

Greetings, family! Thank you so much for the continued support and inquiry as we navigate all things COVID-19.

Currently, Josh and I are adequately quarantined, with ample food, Rx, water, and income to survive us the next month. We remain humble, helpful and hoping that the community will continue to uprise and uplift one another during this trying time.

Many of you have expressed wanting to help us, as we have been financially impacted by the Corona Virus. I work as a small business owner and Independent Contractor, teaching yoga, and Josh works as a landscaper. Together, we feel calm and rooted for our future, yet fully alert. Now is the best time to water our roots and watch us grow.

There are many ways to support us that will never involve money. Please feel inspired by this list of ways that you can support Josh, Pinecone and I during this healing quarantine, both spiritually and financially!

1. Follow our blog, CorderCollective.com. Chances are, you are reading this and following our website! This website will continue to be the hub of our empire. Yoga, landscaping, retail, upcycle, vegan eats, and lifestyle are a few of our niches that we continue to hone and craft. By believing in us now and following along, you are investing in our future and giving others permission to trust us. Thank you!

2. Find us, and please follow us, on social Media platforms.

Linktree is easiest! Find everything HERE.

We have a Facebook account: CorderCollective

We have an Etsy account: CorderCollective and my older art, @Vagibond

We have an Instagram account: @cordercollective @kellicorder @bodhi_sligh

We have 2 Spotify accounts (with fuego playlists): @cordercollective @joshcorder

3. Please leave us a positive review on Facebook, Etsy, or SQUARE. These are 3 of the ways we currently accept payment, and your reviews give others the confidence in the future to purchase our products. You do not have to purchase a product in order to leave a review. If you have ever taken Kelli’s yoga class, purchased plants with the help of Josh, or depended on us as a reliable source, we would love your review. Don’t want to publish online? Please email us your feedback at cordercollective.com and I would be honored to use your anonymous words for various media

This will help us for years to come!

4. Consider giving your housewear, book, cardboard boxes, dying plants, and clothing donations to Kelli.

Why? Many donation collectors (cough cough, Goodwill) do not practice the same environmental or moral standards that we do. Rather than shaming Goodwill, I offer the alternative of letting me filter through your Goodwill donations first. Many of my friends and family have been doing this for years. Some of the things I do with these donations:

-Give gifts to the community at large

-Properly recycle and trash all materials ethically (that cannot be resold at retailers such as Salvation Army, Goodwill, or your favorite thrift store)

-Restructure, Repurpose, Upcycle, Revamp, and resell your items (fabric for quilts, beads for dream catchers, old vessels as planting pots, the list goes on)

-Make dream catchers and jewelry out of old bobbles and bits

-Sustainably wrap and ship all of my Etsy and Poshmark orders (I have never bought shipping supplies in my life, sans packing tape! I have and reuse EVERYTHING. With over 120 Etsy sales and 1,120 Poshmark sales, I know I am making a positive impact on the environment)

-Did you know I have the heart of an American picker? Rather than stressful, this brings me joy, so let me take it off of your plate (or pick it up off your curb…)

-I sell valuable items on Poshmark (I am a Top 10% Seller and Posh Ambassador that has been using this site for almost 7 years now). If you would like me to sell your items on your behalf, I am happy to split profits with you (popular option). Or, you can just give the items to me on good faith that they will land in the right hands and MARIE KELLI YOUR LIFE *Marie Kondo jokes*

-You will see life, love and happiness breathed into the dusty items of your loved ones

-all books will be donated across San Diego county to various Free Little Libraries

5. Support the Yoga studio I work for.

Join our facebook group, Hapa Yoga Ohana Online, for video content of myself and fellow teachers as we continue to teach during the quarantine! This has brought me such joy. Follow our Instagram @hapayoga @hapayogaeastlake, and when our doors open, come take your First Class Free with ME.

6. Contact Josh and I for ornamental landscaping, potting and garden needs. If you have any questions about your California indigenous plants, what to plant that you won’t kill, etc., Josh is your guy 🙂 The plant whisperer.

7. Hire me to marry YO ass. Rev Kelli in the house! I am officiated through the Universal Life Church as a certified reverend, which means, I can marry you and your loved one! If you are looking for a spiritually well-rounded, cosmic and carefully curated ceremony, email me: cordercollective@yahoo.com

8. I teach private yoga at offices, apartments, and online. Once this pandemic dust settles, let’s book some yoga classes! Kids birthday parties, weekly office yoga in a conference room, or in a gym- there are infinite ways to play on your mat. I am always accepting used mat, block and strap donations to recirculate to the community.

9. Order a custom dream catcher from my etsy shop. Or, better yet, organize a Dream Catcher Making party for your friends and loved ones! I am able to cater this class to littles (12-17 y/o), or adult classes. I have flexible pricing, ranging from $28-$68 per head, depending on the detail that you would like with your catcher.

10. Support my friends! I am surrounded by small business men and women that would love your fellowship and camaraderie during this time.

Not your Nonna’s – traditional Italian pasta sauce, San Diego

Urban Yogi – yoga teacher, therapist, consultant, and Reiki Healer, San Diego

Olive Baking Company – coffee shop, bakery, local market, Mission Beach SD

Thank you, everyone, for your continued support. It means the world to us!!

Another productive trailer day…I had the opportunity to bust out my new toy that Josh’s sister got me for Christmas:

 Wait for it…
So handy, huh? Naturally, I paced around the trailer to look for something to unscrew. The next week will entail gutting, scraping, & patching as we prepare for THE SPRAYER. We are primering (totally a word) the inside white for a clean slate before we commit to a wall color.

Alas, I found something to unscrew:

Gorrrrrgeous velour paneling and a cassette player to get the mood going. This bad boy has got to go; we want a new music setup.
😂😂😂 I took off one panel. My work here is done! Although I think at this pace, we aren’t going to get very far….

And lastly, here’s my most recent thrifting find. Anyone have insight into this item’s purpose or origin? It looks like it belongs in a meditative space….I think it’ll make a fantastic replacement for the current dinette pillow!

Craigslist is in the Eye of the Beholder

I’ve always been an avid Craigslister, and starting a small business has multiplied my psychotic tendencies to constantly search on Craigslist for something mystic that I can make more crafts with.

Last night was so exception.

As if all my stars were aligned, I emailed a woman inquiring on a yarn lot that was only 5 blocks away from our house! She even offered to give us the yarn and knitting needles in a wicker basket that she was planning on donating…and I am in forever need of a wicker basket. They will be perfect for farmer’s market booths! Needless to say, her wicker offer was music to my ears. As we pull up to pick up the goods, I felt like a customer in a McDonalds line as she literally opened my back door and chucked the basket into the backseat. But hey, she’s a woman who knows what she wants. I scrounge for our $25 and am giddy to get home and dump out its contents. And boy, I wasn’t disappointed 🙂

Of course, this is a blog post with no pictures, which I always deem as a pointless post because I’m only in it for the pictures, really. But, I want to document everything I got from the lot and 6-12 months from now, look at what I was capable of creating from her discarded gems. I can already see the weaves I’m going to make with the silk, fluffy, mermaid yarns we scored on, and I am floored.

As we get to the bottom of the basket, I become a little alarmed as I realize that there is a balled-up sheet at the bottom. *gulp* I’m already assuming that this woman has sold me her evidence- a sheet with the murder weapon rolled up inside- and I’m about to unroll a finger and an eyeball with a ransom note.

The sheet is really, really fucking soft.

We keep unrolling…oh god it is bleached!…and out falls a Victoria’s secret lingerie teddy- so obviously I assume that’s the outfit this woman was wearing when she slayed her husband. Then, a tie dye shirt with slits cut all over the torso….the shirt her husband was wearing when he was stabbed 56 times- which she then washed, bleached, and tie dyed.

Perhaps it’s time for me to go to bed. Needless to say, we are keeping the sheet and plan on tie dying it with bleach to use for keeps. Sheets are always awesome for drop cloths, picnics and cleaning up murders.
